Better Youth Organization
The Better Youth Organization was a promoter of punk rock shows and a record label in Los Angeles, California run by Mark Stern and his brother Shawn Stern, from Beverly Hills. The Sterns were members of the band Youth Brigade, and set up BYO in 1981 to promote their band and put on shows at a time when there were few punk shows in L.A. due to police pressure. Soon after they began the BYO Records label to put out their band and others.
