Beth (song)
A musical departure
Stylistically, "Beth" was unlike anything Kiss had recorded to that point. The song featured a string section and piano, both the inspiration of producer Bob Ezrin. Ezrin also rewrote portions of the lyrics in order to make them more sentimental and less caustic. The result was a song totally at odds with Kiss's image as a hard rock/heavy metal band.

"Beth" was just one of many musical departures the band took on Destroyer. Sound effects, tape loops and a children's choir were just some of the devices Kiss employed for the first time.
