Beth Heiden
Beth Heiden (born September 27, 1959 in Madison, Wisconsin) was an American athlete who excelled in both speed skating and cycle racing. In 1979, she won 4 World Speed Skating Championships at distances from 500 meters to 3000 meters in addition to winning the World Overall Speed Skating Championship. In the 1980 Olympic Games, she won a Bronze medal in the 3000 meter speed skate.

In the sport of cycle racing, which she originally took up as a form of cross training, Heiden won both the U.S. Road Race Championship and the World Road Race Championships.
