Berkeley High School, California
Berkeley High School, a member of the Berkeley Unified School District, is the only public high school in Berkeley, California. It is considered an important Berkeley Landmark.
Architecture
In the late 1930s, Berkeley High was remodeled with old buildings being replaced. The Florence Schwimley Little Theater, Community Auditorium, and science buildings are prime examples of the art deco designs of architects Henry Gutterson and William Corlett. The rebuilding was financed largely in part of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal program the WPA.
