Beowulf (2007 film)
The long gestating adaptation of the poem was written by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman and was originally intended to be directed by Avary. Lack of funding however halted production until Robert Zemeckis showed interest. His friend and partner Steve Bing, who produced The Polar Express, convinced Avary to let Zemeckis direct. The film will be made using the same performance capture technics used in The Polar Express, instead of live action as intended by Avary. Avary and Gaiman collaborated on the script during a two-month sojourn in Mexico in 2003.
