Beckton is a place in the London Borough of Newham.

The area forms the eastern limit of London's redeveloped Docklands and consists of mainly recent architecture and housing.

It is home to a terminus for the Docklands Light Railway and also a depot for the DLR. There is also speculation of a new extension to the railway from Beckton to Barking and Dagenham.

Transport for London are planning a new bridge, the Thames Gateway Bridge, which will connect Beckton to Thamesmead on the southern bank of the River Thames.

Beckton is 8 miles (12.8 km) east of Charing Cross.
