Beatle haircut
The Beatle haircut, also known as the mop-top (for its resemblance to a mop) is a mid-length hairstyle named for and popularized by the British rock group the Beatles. It is a straight cut, relatively short in the back and sides, with long, straight fringe (bangs). The style had been suggested to the band by artist Astrid Kirchherr, who adapted it from the French Caesar hairstyle. It is essentially a type of bowl cut, and bears some resemblance to the hairstyle worn by Moe Howard in the Three Stooges shorts.

Due to the popularity of the Beatles, the haircut was widely imitated during the 1960s, however some schools in the U.K. banned the style, believing it to be sign of social decay.
