Beant Singh
Beant Singh was one of the bodyguards to the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He and Satwant Singh assassinated Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984 in retaliation for ordering the attack on Sikhism's most holiest and Gurdwara in an attempt to flush out a band of Sikh militants. Beant Singh was fatally shot at the scene, while Satwant Singh was arrested and was later sentenced to death by hanging on January 6, 1989, along with Kehar Singh, who was alleged by the Indian government to be a co-conspirator.
