BBW

BBWs (acronym for "Big Beautiful Woman") are the focus of a vaguely-defined, fairly widespread Internet subculture with interests centered around the acceptance, support, and admiration of larger women. Generally defined as an attractive, self-confident "woman of size", the BBW is the subject of much veneration by so-called fat admirers (FA). Admirers may also be referred to as "chubby chasers", although this term is more frequently used to describe gay men who seek larger men.

Other terms used in reference to BBWs include "rubenesque" (referring to the art of Peter Paul Rubens, who was known for portraying plus-size women), "voluptuous", and "full figured". Another term, "Real Women", was an advertising slogan of the century-old retail store chain Lane Bryant, which specializes in clothing for plus-sized women.

Exceptionally large women are called SSBBWs, with the SS standing for Super-Size.

The term "BBW" is not to be confused with force-feeding or feedees, both of which belong to specialized parts of this subculture.
