Batting cage
A batting cage is a piece of equitment for players to practice the skill of batting. It is an enclosed cage (usually made of netting or a chain-link fence) rectangular in shape. A batter stands at one end of the cage and hits a pitched ball to the other end. A pitching machine is often used. The pitcher or pitching machine sits partway through the cage and pitches baseballs to the batter. A pitching cage is used to keep the baseballs within a certain range so that they're easy to pick up and are not lost. Batting cages are often found indoors where space is limited, and fragile objects are found.
