Had SFR Yugoslavia not dissolved by 1992, the Yugoslav national basketball team probably would have become the sole leader. However, one of the successor teams, that of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (today called Serbia and Montenegro) continued to participate and won two more titles as "Yugoslavia". Note that they were banned at the World Championship in Canada 1994 due to international sanction.
