Barry Gardiner
Barry Strachan Gardiner (born March 10, 1957, Glasgow) is a british politician, and Labour member of Parliament for Brent North.

He was educated at Haileybury and Imperial Service College, the University of St Andrews, the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University, and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, and he has been described as "one of the best educated and most internationally experienced MPs." He had previously been an insurance adjuster, and won his seat in the1997 election, replacing Rhodes Boyson. He is chair of Labour Friends of India. In May 2005, he was appointed parliamentary under-secretary at the Department of Trade and Industry.
