Barcelona chair
The Barcelona Lounge Chair is a classic piece of 20th century furniture design by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The chair was used as a pair of thrones for the Spanish Royal couple when they visited Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion in 1929. At the time these chairs were the only furniture in the Pavilion.

Their outsize proportions and highly machined construction renders them more as sculptural objects in the constructed landscape of the Pavilion.
