Barbara Hepworth


 

Dame Barbara Hepworth (January 10, 1903May 20, 1975), born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, was one of the most important 20th Century Artists and British Artists of the 20th Century. She was certainly the pre-eminent female British sculptor and often considered as great a sculptor as her friend and contemporary Henry Moore, if not quite as famous.
