Baltimore News-American
The Baltimore News-American was the Hearst newspaper in Baltimore and the final competitor to the Baltimore Sun. Hearst bought the evening News and the sunday American from Frank Munsey, owner of the New York Herald, New York Sun, and New York Telegraph. The Scripps-Howard owned evening Post was later acquired and the evening News became known as the News-Post. Later both the evening and sunday editions would be named the News-American.
