Baltic Russians
The term Baltic Russians refers to ethnic Russians who live in the Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia; it does not imply a separate ethnic subcategory among the Russians. The term came into use in the context of discussions of their fate after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Therefore Russians living in the Saint Petersburg area and the Kaliningrad Oblast, despite living on the Baltic Sea coast, are usually excluded, as they live within Russia itself.
