Bad Girls (album)
Bad Girls (1979, see 1979 in music) was a hit album and song by Donna Summer. The album was number one on Billboard Music Chart's pop albums chart and number two on the hip hop/R&B charts. When it was released as a double-disc album in 1979. Released after the singer went through a battle of depression, it showcased the 30-year-old's knack for writing great lyrics and melodies and singing in an almost gospel-like tone. Most of the album had a rock feel to it as did songs like "Hot Stuff" and "Dim All the Lights", which became hits for Summer, including the title track and "Sunset People" with the former becoming one of the quintessential jams in funk and disco music. The album went on to sell 7 million copies and top the charts for 6 weeks, and yeilded two #1's for Summer, "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls", and became Summer's biggest-selling album ever as she ended the 1970s on a high note in her music career.
