Avon, Connecticut
Avon is a town located in Hartford County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 15,832.

It was settled in 1645 and was originally a part of Farmington. In 1830, Avon incorporated as a separate town. It is generally considered a suburb of Hartford. Avon Old Farms School, a prestigious boarding school, is located there. Avon, a wealthy suburb, has claimed home to several famous people. George F. Will, a conservative columnist who has befriended President Reagan, graduated from the local high school.
