AVN Awards

The AVN Awards are given annually by the adult video industry trade magazine AVN (Adult Video News) to honor achievement in the field of adult video. Almost 100 awards are given out; categories include the expected general awards (Best Video Feature, Best Film, and Best DVD) as well as more porn-specific honors (Best Anal-Themed Feature, Best All-Girl Feature, Best Oral-Themed Feature).

The first AVN Awards were given in February 1984. The eligibility requirements for the 2006 AVN Awards are:

• Released in the period: Oct. 1, 2004 - Sep. 30, 2005
• Available at 10 wholesale distributors or 100 retail outlets in Sep. 30th at the latest.

AVN magazine also hosts an annual awards event for gay adult video, the GAYVN Awards.
