Avery Johnson
Avery Johnson (born March 25, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a former pro basketball player and current head coach of the Dallas Mavericks. He took over the coaching job from Don Nelson in 2005. Prior to this he spent 16 years playing for several teams in the NBA, while he's mostly known for his time with the San Antonio Spurs. Johnson was part of the 1999 Spurs team that won the NBA championship against the New York Knicks. Johnson was known as the "Little General" for his small stature, but also for his outstanding leadership skills.
