Avatar Press is an smaller American comic book publishing house based out of Urbana, Illinois. They are most notable for their publishing of Frank Miller's realization of the cyborg police hero Robocop in the comic book form along with various other adaptations of movies and television shows into the comic book form. Notable adapatations performed by Avatar include Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Friday the 13th. Avatar also currently publishes many original works by comic creators such as Warren Ellis, Brian Pulido and Alan Moore.
