Australian legislative election, 1993
Legislative elections were held in Australia on March 13, 1993. All 147 seats in the House of Representatives were up for election. Despite widespread predictions of a Coalition victory (popular Labor Prime Minister Bob Hawke had been replaced by his Treasurer, Paul Keating, and Australia was suffering from a recession), the Australian Labor Party won a 5th term in government.
