Austin County, Texas
Austin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area. As of the U.S. Census 2000, the population is 23,590. Its county seat is Bellville6. The county is named for Stephen F. Austin, who facilitated the Anglo American colonization of Texas and is known as the Father of Texas.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,700 km² (656 mi²). 1,690 km² (653 mi²) of it is land and 10 km² (4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.58% water.
