Austin Chronicle
The Austin Chronicle is an alternative weekly newspaper published in Austin, Texas, United States. Physically, it is a tabloid newspaper. Copies of the paper are free and are mainly distributed through free news-stands, often at local eateries or coffee houses frequented by its targeted demographic. The newspaper's website claims a readership of 243,500.

The Chronicle was founded by Louis Black, who has been the editor since its inception. Black is also one of the founders of the South by Southwest Festival although that operates as a separate company from the Chronicle.

In April 2005 the Chronicle spun-off AC, a weekly directed at a younger demographic than that of the Chronicle. There have been no additional editions of The AC and is now widely considered to have been a April Fools Joke.
