World War II: Ion Antonescu, prime minister of Romania, is arrested and a new gouverment is established. Romania exits the war against Russia joining the Allies.

World War II: French and Allied troops start the attack on Paris.

World War II: Paris is liberated by the Allies.

World War II: Charles de Gaulle enters Paris.



Monday 28:

Marseille and Toulon are liberated.



Tuesday 29:

Slovak National Uprising takes place as 60,000 Slovak troops turn against the Nazi rulers.
