After gaining rapid exposure in the US with this victory, he decided to fight Robert Wiggins, a man who had previously lost very close decisions to Monte Barrett, a former WBC interim title challenger, and DaVaryll Williamson the current IBF mandatory challenger; having broken the latter's jaw in their 2003 fight. Harrison dominated Wiggins from the outset, keeping him on the outside of his long southpaw jab. He floored Wiggins with a big left cross in the 4th round, ending the round with a flurry of punches, that sent Wiggins wobbling back to his corner. Wiggins' trainer stopped the fight, awarding Harrison a technical knockout victory in the 4th round.
