Atlantic City, New Jersey
Atlantic City is a city located in Atlantic County, New Jersey, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 40,517. It is a resort community located on Absecon Island, just off the coast of New Jersey. Other towns on the island are Ventnor, Margate, and Longport.

Atlantic City is governed under the Faulkner Act (Mayor-Council) system of municipal government. The current Mayor of Atlantic City is the Honorable Lorenzo Langford. However, Mayor Langford's administration became a Lame Duck on June 7, 2005 when he lost the Democratic primary to Bob Levy who will face Republican Tim Mancuso in the November General Election.
