Ashland is a city located in Boyd County, Kentucky, nestled along the banks of the Ohio River. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 21,981.

- In 1854, the name of the city was changed to Ashland in honor of Henry Clay's home in Lexington, Kentucky.
