Arthur Tansley
Sir Arthur George Tansley (1871 - 1955) was an English botanist who was a pioneer in the science of plant ecology. He championed the term ecosystem in 1935. He was one of the founders of the British Ecological Society, and editor of the Journal of Ecology for twenty years.
