Arnold Steinhardt
Arnold Steinhardt is a violinist who is best known as the first violin
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
of the Guarneri String Quartet.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
He was born in 1937 in Los Angeles. His debut was with the
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 14. He studied
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with Ivan Galamian

and with Josef Szigeti. In 1958 he won the Leventritt International

He lives in New York City, and the author of Indivisible by Four: A String Quartet in Pursuit of Harmony,
