Arnold & Porter is a Washington, D.C. law firm founded by New Deal veterans Thurman Arnold, Paul Porter, and Abe Fortas. Abe Fortas left the firm shortly after its founding, and so his name was dropped from the firm's moniker.

Arnold and Porter is well known for its corporate and antitrust work, as well as its pro bono comittments and its support for liberal causes. Prominent cases the firm has been involved with included: counsel to tobacco in the mass tort litigation of the 1990s, counsel to Americans prosecuted in the Red Scare trials of the McCarthy era, and as counsel to Clarence Earl Gideon in the landmark Gideon v. Wainwright case.
