Arlington, Texas
Arlington is a city located in Tarrant County, Texas. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city had a total population of 332,969, which makes it the seventh largest city in Texas. A more recent population estimate by the city is approximately 347,607 http://www.ci.arlington.tx.us/planning/stats.html. Arlington is within the Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan division of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, a title designated by the U.S. Census, and is colloquially referred to as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Sports
Arlington is the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team, and is the future home of the Dallas Cowboys. Now that the Dallas Cowboys no longer play or practice in the City of Dallas or Dallas County, it is unclear whether they will change their name. Like the rest of Texas, Friday night High School football is a widespread obsession by fans of all ages.
