Arlington, Texas
Arlington is a city located in Tarrant County, Texas. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city had a total population of 332,969, which makes it the seventh largest city in Texas. A more recent population estimate by the city is approximately 347,607 http://www.ci.arlington.tx.us/planning/stats.html. Arlington is within the Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan division of the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area, a title designated by the U.S. Census, and is colloquially referred to as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
Schools and Colleges
Arlington Independent School District (AISD) runs most of the city's public schools. AISD's six high schools are Arlington, James Bowie, Sam Houston, Mirabeau B. Lamar, James Martin, and Juan Seguin, all of which are rated population level 5A (highest) by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The Mansfield Independent School District serves the southern portion of Arlington.
