Aris Kristatos

Aristotle Kristatos is a villain from the 1981 James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only. The role was played by Julian Glover.

Bio

Generally regarded as a hero during the Greek Civil War which followed World War II, Kristatos was actually a double agent during the conflict. Though he appeared to be a respectable businessman in the years therafter, he was also involved in criminal activities such as smuggling, in addition to serving as a Soviet agent. He developed a blood fued with rival smuggler Milos Columbo. Assigned to steal the A.T.A.C. (a machine which controls the launching system of British submarines) and deliver it to the Soviets, he kills the head of the British salvage effort, attracting the attention of James Bond. Kristatos frames Columbo for his various crimes, hoping that Bond will kill him.
