Religion

Most of Argentina's population is at least nominally Roman Catholic. Roman Catholicism is supported by the Argentine state, as stated in the constitution. Evangelical churches gained a place in Argentina especially since the 1980s. The country also has the largest Jewish population in Latin America, about 300,000 strong, and is home to one of the largest Islamic mosques in Latin America. Traditional Protestant communities are also present.
