Area code 701
In the North American Numbering Plan, area code 701 is used to address long distance calls to and within the state of North Dakota. 701 was one of the original area codes created by AT&T in 1947 and still refers to the entire state. The code is somewhat over half full, with about 500 of the 900 or so possible exchanges in use.
