Archer City, Texas
Archer City is a city located in Archer County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,848. It is the county seat of Archer County{{GR|6}}. The town is named for Branch Tanner Archer, a commissioner for the Republic of Texas. Its most famous native son is the author Larry McMurtry.
