Anwick features a garden centre, an airstrip, a pair of stones (glacial erratics) next to the churchyard called the Drake Stones, a major chicken-processing factory (G.W.Padley and sons) and a Gatso speed camera. During World War One there was a Royal Flying Corps airfield north of the village and that area was laid-out as a decoy airstrip occasionally during World War Two, in an effort to fool any enemy airmen that they were overhead either Cranwell or Digby airfield, both genuine fighter bases.

The modern day airstrip, on an arable farm east of the garden centre, is unrelated to the area used by the military during wartime.

In June 2005, a speed camera that had been operating in the village for several years was shown in court to have been enforcing the wrong speed limit. The police had claimed that the speed limit was 30mph, yet the absence of street lighting meant it was actually 60mph. Some 2,600 drivers had been illegally prosecuted.
