Annual publication
An annual publication, more often called simply an annual, is a book or a magazine, comic book or comic strip published yearly. If it is not a book or a comic, it may be brought out to praise some celebrity or celebrities, to tie in with a popular TV series or even a holiday camp (such as the Butlins annual). Occasionally the title is used for something that has little hope of any further editions, such as a movie tie in, especially if, in the UK, it is published in the months leading up to Christmas.

Many American comic books have published annuals as supplements to regular ongoing series, such as The Amazing Spider-Man or Captain America.
