Anne Samson
Sister Anne Adele Samson (February 27, 1891 – November 29, 2004) was born in Riviere Bourgeois, Nova Scotia, Canada. (Due to a clerical error, it was believed for some time that Sister Anne was born February 5, but recently the original baptismal entry from 1891 was found, confirming the February 27 date.)

Sister Anne became the oldest-known Canadian at age 111, following the passing of Evangeline Saulnier (September 11, 1890 – March 19, 2002). She became the oldest nun on record on May 4, 2003, surpassing the 112 years 65 days set by Augustine Teissier (Sister Julia) of France (January 2, 1869 – March 8, 1981). By mid-2004 she had entered the top 10 oldest living persons in the world and ranked 7th among validated claims by the time she died that November at the Filles de Jesus (Daughters of Jesus) care home in Moncton, New Brunswick. Upon her death Julie Winnefred Bertrand took her place as the oldest living Canadian.
