Ann Veneman


 

Ann Margaret Veneman (born June 29, 1949) was the 27th United States Secretary of Agriculture, and was a director of Calgene, the first company to market genetically-engineered food. She announced her resignation as Secretary of Agriculture on November 15, 2004, which took effect on January 20, 2005.
