Anita Baker (born on January 26 1958 - some UK sources say December 20 , 1957, in Toledo, Ohio) is an African American soul and adult contemporary Rhythm and blues singer. She was raised in Detroit, Michigan.

Baker is perhaps best known for her Billboard #1 hit Sweet Love. She was the featured musical guest on Saturday Night Live on April 11, 1987.
