Anglet is a French commune situated in the department of Pyr?n?es-Atlantiques and the Aquitaine region.

Unusually for French, the final ?t? of the town?s name is pronounced, i.e. . Its Basque name is Angelu.

The townspeople are known as Angloys.

  • The river Adour enters the Atlantic between here and Tarnos.
  • A pine forest covers 10% of the town (primarily in the Pignada, Lazaret and Chiberta areas).
  • The sandy coast which commences 200 km to the North at the Pointe de Grave, the end of the Gironde estuary, ends here. Numerous dikes mark the Anglet shoreline.
