Andy Murray (hockey player)


 

Andy Murray (Born: Souris, Manitoba, Canada-) is a Canadian former ice hockey player and current head coach for the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings. During his playing career Murray played for the Killaloe Knights of the OSHL and the Brandon Olympics of the CSHL. Murray's assitant coaching credits include the Winnipeg Jets (1993-95), Minnesota North Stars (1990-92) and Philadelphia Flyers (1988-90). As an assistant coach, Murray made it to the Stanley Cup Finals with the North Stars. Murray was named the coach of the Canadian National Hockey Team in 1996, a post he held until 1998. On June 14, 1999, Andy was named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Kings replacing Larry Robinson.
