~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In 1974, Mill was on the World Championship Downhill Team competing in St. Moritiz, Switzerland. For seven years thereafter was the number one American downhill skier. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In 1976, Mill was on the Olympic team in Innsbruck, Austria, where he placed sixth. He was also that year's US National Downhill Champion. In 1978, he competed at the World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and was on the Olympic Downhill Team in Lake Placid, New York. In 1988, he was presented with the US Olympic Spirit Award in recognition for overcoming adversity in the 1976 Olympic Games. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Since his retirement from skiing in 1981, Mill has worked with ESPN, NBC, ABC and CBS. He has a syndicated show in major ski areas in the US entitled Ski with Andy Mill, which he hosts, writes and produces. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mill has served on the Boards of the Aspen Educational Foundation, the US Olympic Educational Ski Foundation for the US Ski Team, Aspen Winterclub Foundation and National Atlantic Salmon Fishing Federation. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ In 1988, Mill married tennis star Chris Evert. The couple have three sons. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
