Andrei Markov (hockey player)
Andrei Markov (born December 20, 1978 in Voskresensk, Russia) is a Russian ice hockey defenseman.

Andrei currently plays for the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens. He was drafted in the 6th round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. In 2000, he came over to North American and split time with the Habs and their minor league affiliate Quebec Citadelles. Since then, he has become a regular in the Habs starting line-up and is perhaps the best overall defenseman. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, he played in his native Russia with Moscow Dynamo.
