An American Dream
An American Dream is a novel by American writer Norman Mailer. It contains Mailer's message to the American public about reforming the popular idea of the American dream. In this novel Mailer advanced the idea of a personal dream as an individual searching for their identity, as opposed to concurrent ideas of wealth and power being the ultimate root of the dream. Despite its sharpness and cutting wit, An American Dream remains one of Mailer's lesser appreciated works.
