American Sociological Association
The American Sociological Association (ASA), founded in 1905, is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the discipline and profession of sociology by serving sociologists in their work and promoting their contributions. The ASA holds annual meetings and publishes several academic journals including American Sociological Review and Sociological Theory. A new magazine, Contexts, is designed to share sociology with other fields and the public. With a membership of nearly 13,000 professors, students, researchers and practitioners, the ASA is the largest professional association of sociologists in the United States.
