Allure (magazine)

Allure is a beauty and fashion magazine marketed towards young women readers, published nationwide by Conde Nast Publications in New York City. Linda Wells is the Editor-in-Chief. It features articles on women's health, hair and skin products, shopping tips, fashion trends, and celebrity news. Many articles are dedicated towards testing cosmetic products, reporting results of health experiments, and sample diet plans. A young female celebrity in spotlight always poses for the front cover photograph, and a feature article is written on her. Past cover girls have included Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Ashley Simpson, and Misha Barton. The cover of August 2005 issue features Scarlett Johansson, and the cover of September 2005 issue features Mariah Carey. Allure is similar to Jane, Marie Claire, Seventeen, Glamour, Vanity Fair among many others, but the magazine distinguishes itself from other magazines by giving more focus on health articles and practical and affordable beauty tips. Each issue of the magazine includes cards with different style tips that can be separated from the magazine and be collected.
