Allen Iverson

Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975 in Hampton, Virginia) is an American professional basketball player. He is an all-star point guard/shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association.

Life

While attending Bethel High School in Hampton, Iverson was a spectacular all-around athlete who was regarded not only as one of the top basketball players in the country, but also arguably the country's top high school football quarterback. Despite admitting later that football was his favorite sport, he opted for basketball, enrolling at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., where he played for legendary college coach John Thompson.
